Chemical aspects of polymer recycling

چکیده
Since recycling of polymers is a preferred means reducing unwanted wastes and land-filling activity, recovering monomers or other materials economic value, tertiary methods (chemical recycling) have been critically reviewed, giving special attention, in each case, to the chemical basis particular pathway its potential applicability. Recycling issues widely used commodity – polyesters, polyamides, polyurethanes, epoxies, poly(vinyl chloride), polystyrene, polyolefins discussed individually, attention both conventional unconventional perceived high potential, such as enzymatic degradation, ionic liquids mediation, microwave irradiation, treatment super critical well fluids. In addition, novel emerging undergoing greater study at present, cross-alkane metathesis (CAM), tandem hydrogenolysis/aromatization, vitrimer-based recycling, dynamic covalent bonding are also highlighted.
